In 1954 the New Era 59fifty was introduced. It quickly became the cap that all other caps were compared to. Also known as the "Brooklyn Style Cap", it became immensely popular; so popular that New Era had to build new factories to be able to supply the demand. This was only the start of the New Era story... since ten years the 59fifty is the official cap for Major League Baseball and the collection of caps has grown to over a hundred different models.
